One of our fall traditions is a trip to Apple Hill to go apple picking. The boys had an absolute blast! We spent a family day visiting a few of the many apple farms. We picked apples, drank apple cider, ate yummy apple/cinnamon donuts, went threw a hay maze (many times), saw animals, hiked a nature trail, and enjoyed being together.
Here the boys are at the first apple farm with their apple pickers in hand. They are ready to go!
Calum was a little tired so Daddy gave him a ride on his shoulders, which he loved as usual.
Evan in action!
Daddy showing the boys how it's done! I love how intense everyone is waiting for the apple. Once Daddy got an apple the boys would take turns inspecting it to determine whether or not it was any good. Unfortunately many of the apples at the first farm were not so good!
Mommy and Calum
This is my apple pickin pro. He needed very little help this year. He even threw the ones that were rotten away.
Evan and Mommy stopped in the apple orchard for a quick pic!
Look at this one it's little.
The second apple farm we visited had very low trees so the boys both could actually pick them without apple pickers or help from Mom and Dad, and the apples were yummy!
A very intense Calum picking apples. He was so into it, and loved the fact that he could reach the apples without help. A very proud boy filled his bucket to the tippity top!
Evan is bound and determined to reach that apple!
Look how full our buckets are Mom! Looks like Mommy is going to have to learn how to bake apple pie. After they filled their buckets they got to weigh them on an old fashioned scale. They could have stayed all day and done this. Maybe we have some future farmers on our hand?
