Our First Camping Expierience

Last weekend we rented an RV and headed off for a fun filled adventure to the coast (Point Reyes area) with The Herrera Crew. The kids and grown ups had a blast! The kids thought riding in an RV was super exciting, while all of us old folk had to constantly take turns in the passenger seat while the others stared toward the horizon to prevent any pukage! Getting older and motion sickness seem to go hand in hand.

Our first day there we had gorgeous weather and enjoyed the day at the beach. My sweet, amazing husband and I!

Best pals Evan and Brock had so much fun in the freezing water.

Hangin' Out!

Marissa on the beach. How cool is this picture? Too bad I can't take credit for it.

The Herrera Crew..Oh We Love you!!

Daddy and Calum..so sweet.

Frick and Frack:)

EVAN B..As you can see!
Evan was not afraid of the water one bit! There is nothing better than this smile.

Calum loved playing in the sand, building sand castles, and getting his toes and legs wet.

Dady and his two boys

Okay so this was luxury Camping, but in my opinion the best way to go with kids, not to mention a mama who is ALWAYS cold. Tents do not have thermostats, major drawback. Here is the RV we rented. It was great!

The boys had their first smores. You could say they LOVE LOVE LOVED it!!

This picture is perfect..my boys doing what they love. Evan rode his bike all day long rain or shine, and Calum loved stomping in the mud..There was lots of mud. It rained our second day which was fine, but it made for many changes of clothes.

We traveled to the most beautiful Elk Preserve, hiked up a small hill to find the most amazing view and wild flowers everywhere. It was breath taking.

Marissa and Lily in the wildflowers. Adorable girls!

We visited an old dairy farm too. Here is the inside of an old barn. We pretended with the kids what kind of animals we thought lived in here, what it looked liked long ago, sounded like, etc. It was pretty cool. This place dated back to the 1800's.

Brock checking out a herd of Elk! Amazing!
Spring Break 2010. Four families + Eleven Kids= Fun Times!

Soy, Cari, and I and the wind blown look!

These two played hard and snuggled up on the way home. How cute are they? They were completely exhausted. Fun times were had by all!

So now that we have the RV/trailer camping bug and we have to decide if we will rent something each time we camp or make the investment??? There are so many memories to be made, beautiful places to visit, and fun times to be had. There is nothing better than seeing the beauty that God has created. It is my hope that as my boys get older camping will be one of those activities that will bind us together in the midst of leading such busy lives.
