Your a First Grader

The day is here, and you are off to First Grade. No more sleeping in, lounging around watching cartoons (Arthur)in the morning, sipping on your milk, and reading books before school. You have to be up, fed, and ready to leave the house at 7:15...YIKES!!! This is not a house of early risers but we will adjust, for we have no choice.

Most importantly you are SO excited to be a First Grader.

You lost a tooth just the day before, look closely, there is a space right next to your front teeth.

Calum told you he will miss you, and he will, this house will be a quiet one without you here.

You and Daddy

You and Mommy. First grade is a big milestone for both of us. I gave you a big hug and told you I would miss you, and I cried of course. You are so independent and confident, and I know you will have a wonderful year. You told me this;

"Mom, I am a really good student, and I always do what the teacher asks."

"The teacher never has to tell me to stop talking, because I am a good listener."

Once you introduced yourself to your teacher at the door, you found your desk and immediately took everything out of it. You were really excited to find folders, a binder, and your very own box of school supplies.

My handsome first grader ready to learn.

Your name tag

You waving good bye to Mom and Dad. I continue to be one proud mama. I love you very much and it is my prayer that your years in school will instill in you a love for learning, wonderful friendships, and lots of laughter. Mommy sometimes has a hard time letting go but you are obviously ready to spread your wings and fly off to new adventures, and meet new experiences and challenges head on. That has always been my hope for you, and now it is a reality.

I love you!
