Last night we got together with our friends to participate in OPERATION Christmas Child. Each child packed a shoe box full of school supplies, toys, and hygiene items to be delivered to a child in third world country to share the hope of Christ.
We started the night with pizza, watched a DVD about the shoebox ministry with the kids, and then helped the boys pack their boxes. Packing and wrapping the boxes was a little chaotic with five boys running around but once we finished it was mission accomplished. We were able to specify boy/girl and age ranges for our shoe boxes. The older boys also had the chance to write a letter, color, and draw pictures to the child their gift would be delivered to. We also enclosed our addresses and pictures in hopes of a return letter.
Evan chose a boy between the ages of 5-9.
Evan and Daddy packing the shoebox. We needed a bigger shoe box, but we got everything we could fit inside.
Calum packed his box for a little girl between 2-4 years old. Here he is trying to make the baby doll fit on top.
After the boxes were packed we spent time praying with the boys for the children who would be receiving their shoe boxes. One very cool thing about this ministry is that since we paid for the shipping online we received a code for the boxes so that we can actually track when and where our boxes will arrive.

What a great tradition for the boys. Hope you are doing well.
What a great cause and tradition to start with the boys. You rock mama!
That's really cool. Our MOPS group participates in that as well although we've never tracked the box before. Cool
What a lovely thing to do. I'm off to learn more.
