Preschool Then and Now

It was the end of Summer 2007 and you were off to your first day of preschool! I had no idea how quickly this time would pass. You are now almost six and will be starting Kindergarten in two short months.

This was your first day of preschool your first year. You had just turned three, you were potty trained, and had fun at school (once Mommy left). You did cry almost everyday when it was time for Mommy to leave, but were fine once I left. This continued throughout the ENTIRE year!

You playing in the sandbox on your first day!

Now we move on to you on your first day of preschool year two (2008). Now you were newly four years old and still not a fan of leaving Mom, but once you were peeled away you had fun. The teachers said this year you started to talk to them (a little) and would sometimes participate.

You and brother on your first day:).

Sooo cute!!!

Three months into your second year of preschool Mommy had decided that since you have a late summer birthday we would wait until you were five (nearly six) to start kindergarten. It was not an easy decision, but looking back I now know it was a GREAT decision. I pulled you out of preschool (which you were thrilled about), and we spent time doing other fun activities (gymnastics, soccer, play groups). We would do preschool again the following year making it your Pre-kinder year. The other fabulous thing about this decision is that you will be starting elementary school with all your closest friends ( Ryan, Alexander, Brock, Alyssa, Makenna, Riley, and Allison).

Here you are the first day of year 3, you had just turned five years old. Your teachers were amazed at how talkative you had become. You simply waved goodbye to Mommy and Calum each day, loved going to school, participated in class, and made lots of new, wonderful friends.

Here you are showing off your certificate for completing preschool. Mommy and Daddy and your teachers are all so proud of you. You had a wonderful year! You are writing so well, learning to read, and you are SUPER excited about starting school! Your teachers were amazed at how talkative you have become. They all tell me what a sweet and caring boy you are. Of course I already know that, but LOVE to hear others say it!

Looking back helps me remember how much you have grown and matured. You are growing up into a wonderful boy!

This was absolutely adorable. You document life so well. I held my twins back (also late summer bdays). Best thing we ever did. They haven't started kindergarten (will this fall) but the growth they have had this year, has been tremendous. They are so much more ready this year both socially, emotionally and academically.
