Ringin' in The New Year

For the first time ever Geoff and I were asleep at Midnight on New Years, that was until my Mother in law called at 11:45, my Mother called at Midnight, and then the fireworks started outside.

We let the kids stay up late (10:30), had home made pizza, built forts, played games, watched a movie, and had apple cider and other junk foods we don't usually eat before bed time. After we finished putting the boys to bed we were exhausted. I guess the extra 2 1/2 hours past bedtime wore us all out. Geoff and I laughed about how old we felt as we rolled over to go to sleep at eleven.

We had a great time just BEING with the kids, and doing things we knew they would enjoy. I feel blessed beyong measure to have such a wonderful husband, two healthy wonderful boys who keep me running non-stop, and supportive and amazing family and friends.

Happy 2009!!

A whole drumstick just for me.

Evan beat Mommy and Daddy after a Looong game of Chutes and Ladders.

Now I don't feel so bad about going to bed at 11:30.
It was really nice to just stay home with my boys play and relax =)
