We just got home from a much needed family vacation to Disneyland and California adventure. We had an amazing time. The boys loved it, of course. Although it was a tiring vacation, the boys did great and I felt like they were both at great ages to really enjoy Disney. Evan was a trooper and walked for miles and miles each day, and we learned that Calum could fall asleep in places other than his crib.
We bought the boys their own Mickey's and Mickey cell phones. They are still sleeping with their Mickey's each night. A pic of Calum showing off his Mickey.
For Father's Day we ate at Joe's Crab Shack. The highlight for the boys was the "balloon maker man". He was awesome! Here's Evan showing off his Pluto balloon hat!
Here Evan and I ran into Goofy on our way out of the bathroom.
Finding Mickey Mouse in his very own house was very cool!
Calum was a little unsure of the characters, so Mommy had to join in for a pic with Goofy!
Evan on the other hand ran right up to all the Disney characters while posing for pictures and asking for autographs. This is a big change from last year when we visited Disney. My big boy is getting very brave!
My boys and Pluto. I heart this picture!
Wearing 3 D Glasses was fun
Riding the bus from the hotel to Disney was another highlight. Calum kept saying "Ride the School Bus.", and Evan would make everyone turn in the opposite direction from which the bus was coming so that he could be "the announcer" of when the bus would arrive.
Daddy's ready for another day at Disney.
Cinnamon Sticks (churros) were Calum's daily request and Popcorn was Evan's.. Dee-lish!
Now that is one happy kid!
Evan went on his first roller coaster (Space Mountain). Afterwards he very calmly said "I didn't like that..It was too fast". No pictures to prove it, but it really did happen.
Peter Pan was both boys favorite, with Dumbo and the carousel being close runners up.
Evan and his cousin Scottie on the Merry Go Round
Calum on the sea otter
Calum and Grandma on Dumbo. Thank God for Grandma because all the spinning rides were making Mommy not feel sooo good!
Being with Grandma and Papa was lots of fun! Thanks for all the fun times.
Night time fireworks show at the Castle was another favorite. After the show paper Mickey Mouse's and confetti would drop from the sky. Evan loved that part and would try to collect as many as he could. No pictures of that because I was most concerned about him getting trampled while bending down to collect Mickey confetti.
We had lots of late nights, and on this trip Calum proved that he really could fall asleep in a place other than his crib..He was THAT tired. Here he is asleep on Papa as we walked out of Disney. We were actually able to wear him out!
The boys were very excited to pick out a balloon to take home. Here's Evan posing with his Minnie Mouse.
This was a great vacation that we will always remember. There is nothing like going to Disney with a child and seeing the excitement through their eyes. Excitement about things that would have otherwise gone unnoticed. I think Geoff and I had more fun than they did just watching them. It really is The Happiest Place on Earth!
