This week Papa Tony and Grammie arrived for a two week visit from Canada. We have had a great first week. We love when they come visit us, and always try to make the most out of our time with them. We wish our visits could be longer, but are grateful for the quality time we do get to spend with them. Here are some highlights from week one.
They brought us our first real street hockey set to bring out the Canadian in us. We don't want to forget our roots! How many Canadians does it take to put a hockey net together? Ha ha
Papa Tony gave me my first street hockey lesson minutes after his arrival.
Evan showing off his skills. He and Papa Tony had the best time playing. There was a lot of laughing, swinging, and balls flying. Yes street hockey is played with a ball, not a puck. It was news to me.
The week started off with an evening fishing trip to the river right down the street. Evan likes fishing with Daddy and Papa Tony, but I think he enjoys throwing big rocks in the river even more. They caught lots of fish that night!
Evan's all set for fishing, and waiting patiently! He kept asked all day "Mom when do I get to go fishing". The time finally arrived, and he was happy!
Grammie taught Evan how to swing higher and higher using his leg muscles.
I liked showing Grammie how I can make bubble beards.
Grammie and I have a little inside joke now, she calls this my happy face when I am not feeling so happy. It makes me smile, instead of doing this. Mission accomplished!
We enjoyed a very rare thunderstorm in June. It was pretty exciting stuff for this California boy!
We love you Grammie and Papa Tony and are grateful for the quality time we can spend together during our visits, and all the memories that we are making!
