We have had some pretty interesting weather around here lately. Let's just say it has been Very Un-California like for being almost June. Usually by now the kids are running around the front yard in the sprinklers and lathering on the sunscreen, but instead I still haven't been able to pack away the winter clothes, rain boots. or umbrellas. All that being said, I think as of today we can finally say that as Summer is upon us.
Just three days ago as we were riding bikes we had to pack up and go in because of the thunder, lighting, and then a HAIL storm.. The boys thought this was pretty cool. Evan loving it much more than Calum. I was acting brave and not letting on that thunder FREAKS me out.
Check out the ice Mommy
One wet and happy boy. Evan ran out in the rain and loved every second of it. He kept trying to convince Calum to join him but Calum was not going for it. Evan is much more adventurous when it comes to being outside in rain, wind, and snow. Calum like Mommy is not a fan of being cold and wet, so we watched all the action while staying dry!
And today we enjoyed bike riding with our pals next door, a BBQ, and some good Ol' California Sunshine. Since I have lived back East I know all about seasons, real seasons, not California Seasons and I think this Spring was the first Spring I remember. Usually we move from winter to Summer with very little Spring. I must say I did enjoy Spring, but I am a lover of Summer even if it will be in the 100's before we know it!
Today Calum rode his bike all the way around our very very long block (it's probably about 1/2 a mile). Mommy helped him up some of the hills and cheered him on chanting POP-SI-CLE...POP-SI-CLE! Lissy was a trooper and rode the entire way without a complaint.
Here are the two proud Popsicle eaters:).
YUM with a Silly Face!!
DELISH with a Smile!!

Wasn't quite sure that we were all going to survive the bike ride...but we made it. Mama only has 13 more work days left until the summer fun officially begins :)
