This is our third year planting a garden, and each year it gets bigger and a little better. If I had it may way it would be even bigger but Mommy takes what she can get (Daddy does like his nice green grass). It is so fun for the boys to plant, water, and then watch their fruits and veggies grow. They get really excited when they go outside to check the garden and find that something new has sprouted, or even better if something has ripened and is ready to be picked.
This year we planted lots of green and red peppers, tomatoes, basil, and more strawberries. From seeds we planted green beans, peas, carrots, watermelon, and cantaloupe. Calum was really into planting this year and although Evan enjoys gardening he happened to be more interested in riding his bike on that particular afternoon.
This is a strawberry plant we planted last year which has really taken off this year. Since we didn't get any strawberries last year, the boys were very excited when they started to appear.
Evan before his first pick.
Wow are you looking like a big boy here.
Amazing how happy the simple things can make a child. Makes me appreciate them more when I can view things through the eyes my children. I love your excitement Evan. You will run into the house and tell Mommy when a strawberry is ready or when something new has sprouted.
