Pajama Day and Letting Go

Wednesday was pajama day at school. You were so excited to go to school in your rocket jammies. Since you are a boy who loves to be cozy this was right up your ally. The kids and teachers all looked so great! You continue to love school and are always asking how many days until you get to go again. You had a great day. Since the letter of the week is /p/ you made your very own pizza for your snack, ate popcorn, wore your pajamas, and read stories about penguins along with a penguin craft!

Here you are in front of your school on p.j. day.

Mrs. Milton (your music teacher) sang a lullaby song while everyone had rest on their carpet circles to wind down after dancing, playing instruments, and singing.

Your preschool class:) and little Calum always joins in on the fun.

Speaking of school, Mommy registered you for Kindergarten last week. I felt so strange walking into the school you will be going to. I held it together but the reality that you are going to elementary school in seven months is beginning to hit me. Without a doubt I will be that Mommy crying on the first day of school.

We are talking more and more about Kindergarten these days, and you are EXCITED!!! You are more ready than I ever expected. You have blossomed and grown physically and emotionally by leaps and bounds over the past six months. You are an eating machine, and always clear your plate not to mention the constant snacking throughout the day.

Your preschool teachers are amazed by your self confidence and independence this year. You are talkative, you love pre-school, you love to joke around and laugh with your friends and teachers, and you NEVER hang on Mommy's leg or even get in the least bit sad when I leave. I can't wrap my head around it all. How and when did this change occurred, why did it occurred. Was it gradual? Was it the change in my Mommy ways, your child ways, or both of us doing some growing up together as we figure this whole thing out?

Time outs are a rarity, you are a helper around the house, and I know I need to let go more, and I think I have gotten lots better at it. You are definitely better at it. I am so protective of you and pray that I never take the miracle of your life for granted.

Tonight we played a how much I love you game..You were very cute! A peak into our pillow talk!
Mommy:I love you as deep as the ocean.

Evan:I love you as tall as the trees.

Mommy:I love you more than you love your blankie.

Evan:I love you as big as the sky.
