13th Month in Review

I can't believe my baby is 13 months old. This was an exciting month for you Mr. Calum. Here are some things you are doing, that I never want to forget.

Now that the weather is getting nicer, you are loving being outside, and whenever you look outside through the glass door or a window you will point, and even sometimes say "out". If we don't go outside right then, you throw a fit.

You love to feed yourself, and are trying to use a spoon too. You even manage to get some of the food in your mouth sometimes. Yesterday you ate an entire ice cream cone all on your own.

You have begun some serious separation anxiety. If Mommy walks out of the room, or even gets up to throw something away, you often cry big, sad Calum tears. Sometimes Daddy gets sad because Mommy has been your preference lately.

You are blowing kisses to everyone you see. You love to greet your brother in the morning with a kiss, or blow him a kiss. You light up when he talks to you, hugs you, or sings to you.

You still do not like getting dressed or having your diaper changed. You scream as if you are in terrible pain, and usually mommy is sweating after you are dressed because it is such a battle. You just want to be on the move!

Your new favorite thing to do is to push the chairs and stools around the kitchen to practice walking. You are getting pretty good, and I know it won't be long.

You took your first step, you will take a couple of steps towards me, get so excited, and then crash into my lap or my arms. The look on your face is one of pure excitement and delight.

The other day you saw me disciplining your brother for doing something that he wasn't supposed to and you are now shaking your finger at people saying "no", "no", no". Hilarious! It's amazing how you are taking it ALL in.

You are continuing to use many signs, and are starting to say many words. You are getting to be a pretty good imitator. You even try to say Evan, it sounds like "E-du". Evan is enjoying that you are attempting to say his name.

You are more of a cuddle boy now. You like to lay your head on my lap or next to me if I am laying down. You respond to "give me love" by laying your head on my chest. You are a sweet boy, and I love you very much!

Don't walk away mama!
