All about Eva-Boo 4 Years 3 months

Awesome Evan,

You too are growing so quickly, and amazing Mommy every step of the way. You are becoming more and more independent, and are getting so good at expressing yourself. The other day when something was bothering you (I can't remember what it was) you told said;

"Mommy I am FRU-STER-A-TED"..separating each syllable. I did my best not to laugh, and praised you for telling Mommy how you felt. Just today you told me that you wanted Calum to play with you, and you were lonely playing all by yourself. I wasn't even sure you knew what lonely meant, but I guess you did.

Your ability to express how you feel is wonderful, and a stage Mommy loves. I am so proud of you for telling Mommy how you feel, especially since we have really worked on this.

You are doing so well at school, participating more, and becoming very talkative with your friends and teachers. You really have special relationships with your teachers and friends there. When you get home you are able to tell me about your day, what you did, what songs you sang, what you had for snack (you know the most important stuff). This is a picture of you in front of the class with the "sharing can". You stood in front of the class and gave three clues as to what was inside the can that began with the letter "d" (it was a dime). Talking in front of your peers is not your favorite thing to do, but you did a great job with some encouragement! Again, Mommy is very proud of you!

Here you are on the teeter totter at school.
Here's you and your friend Ryan on the teeter totter

You have always been a great traveler, and will sleep anywhere. Last month when we went to Canada to visit Grammie and Papa Tony you were an awesome traveler,and a big help to Mommy and Daddy with Calum. You loved every minute of it. You really enjoyed riding on the airplane, the airport, and especially liked the moving belt transporters (not sure what to call those), and mastered getting on and off of them.

You and your Daddy can fall asleep anywhere..anytime. Two peas in a pod, you two!

You built your first snowman last month with Papa Tony in Grammie and Papa Tony's backyard. You could have played outside forever. You loved the snow, and wanted to know why it doesn't snow at our house. You loved hiking through the forest, pretending to dig up hidden treasures in the snow, and sledding down the hills. No complaining about the cold, no cold hands, no whining even though it was 20 degrees and the wind started to blow. You loved it!!! Mommy loves watching you discover things you like, the things that excite you. Being outdoors and exploring nature excites you, another something I love about you!
You adored your baby cousins, and loved holding them. Here you are holding Anthony. I will have to dig out some pictures, but I think you looked a lot like him when you were a baby. When we were visiting you told Mommy and daddy that "We should have two babies." Everyone thought that was pretty funny, especially Daddy!!!

Your imagination and ability to play independently is taking off. I love watching you pretend play with all these new imagination skills. Daily you are making up detailed stories with propts, and Calum and I are usually the participants or the audience. The other day you layed out blankets and pillows in the front room for the airplane. You were the pilot and Calum and I were the passengers. You had a microphone that you made your announcements in (how long the flight would be, what the temperature was, weather the ride would be smooth or bumpy, and what snacks would be served). You used a plastic golf club and one of Mommy's silk flowers as your controllers on the flight deck. Your awesome!! I missed a photo of that one.

Here you are playing independently and telling a story I am sure. You still love tractors, and trucks of any kind. This forklift your playing with was Daddy's when he was a little boy, and Grammie saved it for you. Thanks Grammie!!
You and brother have become play mates. You call him "little guy" which you came up with on your own, and just makes everyone laugh. You seek him out to play with you, and although you still like your individual time with Mommy and Daddy, you enjoy Calum and want to near him. Tonight you told me "Mommy I love Calum"...What a Mommy loves to hear. And he of course adores you (well most of the time)... Here you both are playing together peacefully, until someone takes something from the other, or pushes, or splashes, but we were all enjoying the moment.
What a great smile! Pretty sure your full of giggles in this one.

This picture captures is all!! Fun in the tub!

You are learning to write your name, and are getting pretty good at it. Picture to come!!!

You are also becoming interested in rhyming which is how we came up with Eva-Boo and Calumazoo (we say that a lot around here). You are also becoming interested in how to spell simple words, and write them. Numbers are also interesting you more. We were at the store the other day and you told me ;

"Mommy..that costs $2.99."..I was shocked..Nobody taught you that..I didn't even know you knew 99..Then when we bought diapers for Calum you told me we had 200 diapers..Okay I know they don't teach hundreds at preschool, or do they?? Where is this coming from smartie?
You are becoming more confident around new people, you will now more eagerly wave and greet people, and will answer questions others ask you even if it's someone you don't know very well. I guess you could say you are coming out of your shell, blossoming, and becoming a confident little boy. You are perfect the way you are but watching your confidence grow has been very exciting. I am very proud of you, and I love you so very much. My goal is to raise you to believe in Jesus, feel secure and loved, be confident, and I try to do anything and everything in my power to build your self esteem so that you believe that you can achieve anything you set your mind to.

Oh I love these posts and love seeing one about Evan. What a great development that he is coming out of his shell bit by bit. And, what a little cutie and great big brother he is!

You are such a great mom! I love how you celebrate all the boy's current milestones in these posts.
You know that the girls call each other 'little guy" every once in awhile. It makes me smile everytime I hear it. I wonder if Calum will always be "little guy?" Bet he's gonna hate that one of these days!
