March Of Dimes 2009

This morning we participated in The March of Dimes walk. Just 4 1/2 years ago our little Evan came into this world 13 weeks early. He is now a thriving, energetic, happy, and healthy boy. Anyone who meets him now would never guess that he had such a rough entrance into this life. This event helps us reflect on where we've been, and how far we've come.
It was a fun day of walking, remembering, talking, eating, and playing.
Here is Evan getting ready for the walk. He pulled Calum in the wagon about half the way, and then walked the rest. What a big boy! He walked the entire 3 miles, and at a pretty quick pace.

Daddy, Evan, and Calum at the start of the walk.

BF Casey, Me, and our kiddos at the start of the walk. The girls next door were also born very premature weighing between 1 pound 6 ounces, and 1 pound 12 ounces. If you combined Alyssa, Makena, Riley, and Evan's birth weights, it would be less than Calum's birth weight. Isn't that just amazing??

Casey pushing the girls:), and being silly!!
After Calum got tired of riding in the wagon Daddy carried him for awhile.

After the walk a lunch was provided. Calum was not interested in a sandwich or even pizza, just lots and lots of chips.
The kids spent about an hour running around the park and playing Frisbee. I am pretty certain that Evan can throw the Frisbee better than Mommy.

That was then...

And look at you now my sweet boy! Mommy and Daddy love you very much!

What a great way to honor your journey's and raise money!

I can't believe you both, the best of friends with so much in common. How lucky you are to have one another.

Tell Casey, she is looking mighty skinny! I enjoy reading things from both of your points of view, so I look forward to her post as well.

I thought about you on Saturday morning. Great pictures. It is amazing to me how well these tiny little ones do and how no one knows just by looking at them how far they've come.
