A Happy Couple and a Handsome Ring Bearer

Last Saturday my nephew Michael got married to Amber. We love her. She is beautiful, fun, feisty, and we welcome her into our family with open arms. She fits right in. Geoff and I were honored when they asked Evan to be a part of their special day. He was willing, looks great in a tuxedo, so it was a go! I was nervous about whether or not he would actually do it so I was instructed to make myself disappear until after the ceremony and pictures. We knew if he saw the safety net of Mommy and Daddy he would run to us instead of standing in front of a crowd of people staring at him.

To say that we were proud and so very impressed would be an understament. Evan did an amazing job as the handsome ring bearer, and was so proud of himself. It was a long walk down the path, over the bridge to the wedding party where he had to stand still for nearly thirty minutes. The wedding was beautiful, and everything turned out perfect.

A picture of handsome Evan getting ready for the wedding.

Daddy and Calum waiting for the ceremony to start.

Here is the ring bearer doing a most fabulous job.

Michael and Amber

A close up of Calum. It was a little challenging keeping him quiet and sitting for the cermony, but all in all he did a great job! Having his cousin Jessica behind him helped.

Although this day was a celebration for us it was also a very difficult and emotional day without my brother there. Michael (my nephew) was only two years old when his Daddy passed away in a car accident. Although it has been twenty years the ache is still there, especially for my mom. Watching her heart ache today was not easy. I can only imagine that the pain of losing a child is one that never goes away, even after twenty years.

Joey would be so proud of the wonderful young man Michael has become, and I know he was watching from above with a big smile on his face. My heart aches for the fact that my nephew and niece never had the chance to know their Dad, My Brother. Someday we will all be reunited, but it's occasions like this that make us miss him even more.

This picture captured the moment. I love you Mom!

Since Michael is a lover of chocolate he and Amber had a chocolate fountain at the reception with bananas, strawberries, pretzels, and rice crispie treats. As you can imagine the kids and the chocolate lovers were in heaven.

Daddy helping Calum dip his pretzels in the chocolate fountain.
Rice crispie treats dipped in as much chocolate as I want. Mmmmmm..good.

No MORE pictures Mom!

Have you ever seen a chocolate wedding cake? Michael loves loves chocolate, so the cake was all chocolate..DELISH!!!
