Ten Years and an Awesome Vacation!

For our tenth wedding anniversary Grandma and Papa offered to keep the kids so Geoff and I could go to Maui. It was a much needed vacation. It's so true that you have no idea how much you really need something until it actually happens. We had the best time ever. We talked, ate, walked on the beach, went snorkeling, swam with sea turtles and sting ray's,

We relaxed by the pool,


Were unexpectedly upgraded to a room with an amazing view of the ocean,


watched the sunset each night,

had more Mai Tai's.. , and conversation. The kind where you can finish your thoughts.

We took lots of self portrait pics using a self timer propped up on a couch in the hotel's lobby,

had some very yummy dinners, and we didn't have to do the dishes.
and ate some unusual but yummy fruits.

We had a wonderful trip and being married for ten years, going on a great vacation, watching our wedding video that we hadn't seen in ten years has made me reflect. Reflect on the last decade. I am amazed at how much has happened and how much life has changed in ten years.

In Ten years we have experienced nine moves, three countries, travel, debt, nine surgeries, new friends, wonderful old friends, happiness, joy, excitement, infertility,tests, poked..prodded, possibility, triplets..worry mixed with excitement, painful loss of identical twin babies to TTTS, intense grief, the birth of a beautiful baby who came much too early..,plenty of Dr. visits, worry/anxiety, many ER visits, more worry, RSV, hospitalizations, lots of medication and prayer, beating all the odds, a healthy thriving boy, beginnings of healing, more fertility treatment, a failed attempt, our first new home, another attempt for baby #2, more shots, more Dr. visits, a success, an awesome full term pregnancy, a new baby boy, a healthy baby boy, more joy, happiness, more happiness, success, financial freedom, a thriving business, goals accomplished, laughter, noise, more laughter, firsts, birthdays, loss of loved ones dear to us, grief, broken friendships, sick loved ones, far away parents, self discovery, sleepless nights, maturity, and two very thankful and sometimes tired parents.

And through it all even though MUCH has changed, MUCH remains the same!

I Love You today even more than I loved you the Day I married you. I know that we have survived so much in these past ten years and through it all you have been an amazing support, and have been here for me more than I could have ever imagined. You have taken such great care of me. I never dreamt the day we got married that we could have the relationship we do now. Thank you for being a wonderful husband, a great Daddy, and my best friend! Let's not wait another ten years before going away together again.
