Christmas Preperations

We had an exciting three weeks leading up to Christmas 2009. It started with cutting down our Christmas tree at a Christmas tree farm not far from our house. Although we are tempted each year to get an artificial tree, I just don't think I am ready to give up this tradition while the kids are young. They have so much fun running through the rows and rows of trees, and giving their opinions on which tree they like, and why.

Daddy and Calum heading off to search for the prefect tree. Perfect has been one of Calum's new favorite words. He will say things like "Oh this is a perfect tree", or "Oh this present is perfect". It is very sweet!

Brothers

Evan climbed on top of the truck to help tie the tree down, and to just be on top of the truck.

Before I could even get all the ornaments out the boys had all the candy canes on the tree, as well as many eaten.

Evan was really into hanging ornaments this year, and decorated most of the tree on his own.

Calum didn't quite get the concept of spreading out the ornaments evenly around the entire tree. He felt they looked better in clusters. And yes...Mommy did leave them that way. It did take will power but I pushed through it:).

Calum hard at work.

Calum decorating some more.

Evan and his most favorite teacher of ALL times at a Christmas fundraiser held for his preschool. He loved loved Mrs. Myler. The very sad part is that she was a long term substitute for his regular teacher who has been out sick for three months. We are so happy his regular teacher is better and will be returning in January, but we sure will miss Mrs. Myler. The good part is that we do live in a small community and we know we will see her again. We love you Mrs. Myler. Evan will sometimes ask me questions like "What do you think Mrs. Myler is doing right now"???? And the questions about Mrs. Myler go on and on. It is very cute!

Evan decorating cookies at his Christmas party at school.

Calum is the cutest pre preschooler (along with Kate of course:), and Evan enjoys having little brother at school with him since we are there quite often.

Evan and Calum's friend Allison is enjoying her cookie.

We did loads of baking this Christmas. The boys loved it!

Calum helped Mommy with the chocolate dipped pretzels.

The boys were on Hershey kiss peeling duty for Mommy's peanut butter kiss cookies!

Grammie and Papa Tony sent us a great book with paper cut outs for the Christmas Story. Evan enjoyed re telling the Christmas Story using the paper figures. It was really awesome to hear him tell the story.
