Packin up the house

I am in the process of packing for our first major family vacation with two kids. We are flying across the states, and up to Geoff's home and native land....CANADA. We are going to visit Geoff's parents (Grammie and Papa Tony), and to meet the new Bressington twins (Ayden and Anthony) who were born in August.

Evan is so excited, and although he has been on a plane several times, he was too young to remember. We bought him his own suitcase last weekend, and he has packed and unpacked it at least a dozen times since then. Every morning he tells me how many more sleeps until we go see Grammie and Papa Tony. He is at a great age for new adventures, and seeing how excited he is about traveling is awesome...makes me smile!

And yes his face is green..he got ahold of a green marker while in the car with grandma today. Thank God for washable markers!

The thought of traveling for so long with little Calum is making me a little anxious. He does not like to sit still for more than 2 minutes, and is not likely to fall asleep in the arms of Mommy or Daddy ever. He is a child who often fights sleep, for fear that he will miss something far more exciting than a few zzzz's. This will be an adventure, and I am sure our little "entertainer" will make lots of people smile on the plane.

Look at my new hat and gloves..I am ready for Canada!

Traveling for a total of 13-14 hours door to door will likely be a challenge with a four year old and a 20 month old, but will be worth it to spend some quality time with the fam.

We are not used to the cold weather but we have packed our warmest jackets, long sleeve shirts, hats, mittens, warm socks, and are praying for snow. The boys have on their new hats, and are ready to go! We will see you very very soon Grammie and Papa Tony!

Wow I can't imagine flying that long... We flew back from South Carolina with Kaden when he was 5 months old and he did pretty good. We had to take 3 flights and have long layovers. I know you will have a great trip. Joey will be jealous, he wants so bad to go to Canada.

the trip will be worth it - I do hate packing though. We used to fly a lot with the girls when we lived overseas - so I hear ya.
