Last week during our Costco trip we found the "ice cream ball". I had heard about it from my friend Karen, and that they had it at REI, so when I saw it I knew we had to have it. It's a plastic ball, and you open up one end to put in the rock salt and ice, and in the other end (the opening to the cylinder) you put cream, sugar, and whatever else you want (fruit, vanilla, chocolate chips, graham crackers). Then you roll the ball, and twenty minutes later you have some pretty delicious ice cream. We added cinnamon and vanilla..delish! There is a recipe for smores ice cream and frozen yogurt so we'll be trying those soon.
The boys had lots of fun helping Mommy put all the ingredients in, rolling the ball, and then seeing how their perseverance paid off.

Fun! I saw that at Costco, picked it up and then put it back! Glad to know it's a hit (although it's probably sold out already). Brandi
That is so cool!
I LOVE these photos - MY kids want this - but I didn't know if it was a gimmick or not!! I think not!!

I have a bad habit of looking at all the pictures before reading...I thought that was a hamster ball. I'm so glad that it is an ice cream ball (even more so that it's from Costco.) :)
