Snow Balls and Bathing Suits

In an effort to beat the heat on Sunday we headed North to the mountains, and a beautiful lake. It was more than twenty degrees cooler, a perfect 72. We brought a picnic lunch, lots of snacks, sunscreen, buckets, shovels, and dump trucks. What could be better?

The boys were in heaven, and love the outdoors as much as Mommy and Daddy. We had no idea that it would be as cool as it was, or that there would still be snow. A fun surprise for all of us. It was a definite first. We played in the snow while wearing bathing suits and flip flops. What fun!!

Evan making snowballs. It was pretty good snowball making snow. There is nothing like seeing your child so so happy. This is truly Evan's element. He is happiest when we are outdoors enjoying nature. He loves hiking, climbing rocks, swimming, digging..etc. When I asked him where he wanted to go for vacation this summer, his response was camping.

When we arrived at the lake Calum (a.k.a. The pine cone man) got right to work. He started collecting all the pinecones on the beach, and then would throw them into the lake. It was hilarious how focused he was at completing this task.

The pine cone man in action

Now that is a job well done!

Evan loved being in the water, and didn't even care that it was freezing! Look at that gorgeous view!

i came across your blog somehow lol anyway i saw that your son was born at 27 weeks, i just had twin girls who were born at 27 weeks they weighed 2.4 and 2.6, they were born on Feb. 25. They are now almost 3 months old and have been home from the NICU for about a week. anyway, i am having a hard time worrying about their future but seeing things like your son give me so much hope. i have a couple questions if you don't mind, did your son have brain bleeds, or major lung issues? Both my girls had no brain bleeds (thank god) no Rop and we on a ventilator for 24 hours then on and off C-pap for a month or so now both are still on a little bit of oxygen nothing major. How long did you keep him isolated from others? i am really worried about my girls getting sick but i also have a 3 year old who can't just sit inside all day. If you don't have time to answer its totally understandable i have just never met anyone who had 27 weekers as well
thank you so much
