Sunday Randoms and My Week

On Monday morning I awoke after having one of those dreams where you can't get to where you need to be no matter what you do. I was dreaming about getting to the hospital to see my father, as I knew he was scheduled for the long awaited angiogram that morning. When I awoke and realized what day it was I quickly showered, got the kids ready, dropped them off at a friends, and arrived at the hospital about five minutes prior to the Dr. coming out from the procedure.

I could tell the moment the Dr. walked out that things did not go as planned. Although several EKG's had shown no blockages in the arteries, the angiogram yielded very different results. Dad's main artery to his heart was 99 percent blocked. As they began to clean out the plaque and place a stint into his artery, a piece of the plaque broke off causing an unexpected block within the same artery. He began to have a sudden drop in blood pressure and heart rate. He was having yet another heart attack.

Dad knew exactly what was happening (as he suffered from 4 heart attacks in Feb one being complete cardiac arrest). The doctors quickly pumped him full of nitro and placed another stint within that same artery breaking off the piece of plaque, and restoring blood flow.

Three days before the procedure dad was at my house for lunch, and the day before he was at the gym working out as usual.

Dad spent much of the week in CICU, but is now home probably not resting as much as he should. He is feeling better, and feeling stronger each day. The emotional side of what has happened and nearly facing death yet again is at the forefront of all of our thoughts. I am thankful he is alive, and again reminded to seize the moment. Tell those you love that you do, take time to play with your kids, call a friend you haven't spoken to, kiss your family...

I love you Dad!!!
Tuesday we had a family of turkeys in our back yard. Evan noticed before I did. "Mommy come look outside, there are lots of turkeys"...

Wednesday morning brought a little boy with a much swollen eye from a mosquito bite. He is obviously very sensitive to them. I felt so bad for him, but knew it was a mosquito bite and that in 48 hours after some Benadryl he would be okay..and he was. The kicker is that he was bitten in the middle of the afternoon on Tuesday. I do not let him outside after 7:00 p.m..., but now I apparently have to be "on watch" all day long. Bummer..

The boys managed to entertain themselves in my sock drawer. I think Evan had about 8-9 pairs on. Calum was trying to keep up...

We ended the week on a great note, at the Quilao triplets birthday party. Fun times were had by all. It was so nice to have the whole "jumpie place" to ourselves...No big kids!! Here's a pic of Evan with Lissie coming quickly behind.

Calum having lots o fun.

Happy Birthday to Ri-Ri, Makena, and Lissie...Happy Birthday To You!!!

I get the exact same reaction from mosquito bites. I never thought of Benadryl **smack my forehead**. I hope your dad is getting the rest he needs and I will be praying for him. Love the boys and all the socks.

Talk about a busy week...you did a nice job of playing catch-up for the blog. So glad your dad is at home and feeling better each day.

p.s. Will you upload pics to Costco and send them to me?
Just got Ly's message. Can't wait to hang out tonight.

Wow, praying for your dad. How scary that must be for all of you.
That's crazy you had turkeys in your yard, that's something I've never seen.
I love the sock pictures...why is it they have the most fun with things around the house, socks, pots etc.?
Poor little Calum and his bug bites...I hate those mosquiters!
