Photo Story Friday and Mommy Time

Last Friday I had planned that Evan and I would go to our neighborhood carnival/fair on a date. We would have some much needed Evan and Mommy time. We had an absolute blast.

He had popcorn and the biggest lollipop they had for dinner..oh and some soda too!!

We stayed out until 10:00 p.m.

We played all those carnival games until my purse was overflowing with stuffed animals. Good thing Mommy brought a big purse.

I learned that night that Evan and I need these "dates".

I learned that much of his "terrible" behavior is due to lack of alone time he so needs. Since Evan was such a miracle, and endured so much health wise he has been given sooo much special attention. Now that Calum is at this oh so adorable age and doing all these new things, he is getting a lot of the attention. The attention that used to belong only to Evan.

When we left for our Mommy and Evan date. Evan said;

"Mommy, I am so glad Calum is not coming with us..Ya know, cuz then we can talk and stuff."

I am going to do my very best to have an Evan and Mommy date once a week. I saw a very happy Evan that night. It had been way too long since I had seen that side of my sweet boy.

That's sweet. I do the same. Once a month I do something with each child. It's good for both of you.

You are brilliant. I'm sure the memories you create on your dates will last a lifetime.

I love that he realizes how much it means to be able to talk to you. I hope that lasts all his life.

it is so hard & important to have that time. I have not been good about this - your blog is inspiring me to do that.

Awwww that is soooo sweet! I can't wait until our little girl is old enough for fun dates like this. My hubby is planning on having daddy-daughter dates and I want mommy-daughter dates, too. Priceless time! Great post!
