Photo Story Friday and Our Friends

Last weekend we met up with our friends Tim and Brandi in Lake Tahoe. Since they live in another state we don't get to see them much, and this was the first time we were together as families. Evan (4), and Claire (3) had fun together and enjoyed hiking, watching the fish, going to the beach, and chasing each other. Calum (18 months) and Cyler (16 months) had fun just being little people together. Eating goldfish, dancing, and Cy taught Calum how to climb up on tables...(thanks Cy)...

Our friendship with the Ellsworth family is nothing short of special!

Tim and Geoff have been friends since they were twelve when they met at their church, and were in youth group together. When Tim joined the Marines he and Geoff stayed in touch and would always hang out when Tim came home on leave. They were each others best men at their weddings, and always pick up where they left off even when they haven't seen each other or talked in a long time.

Brandi and I met our freshman year of college in the dorms. She was the girl next door. I don't remember the exact moment we became friends, but once we connected we were inseparable.

We later lived together, ate every meal together, worked together, had many classes together, and would often only go on a date with a guy if they had a friend (ha ha).. We have so many years of memories and have endured some amazing times, as well as many of the tough curves that life has thrown our way.

She knows me so well that when she met Geoff (her husbands best friend..my husband now) she knew we would be perfect together. She gave us each others e mail addresses and pictures of each other, and told us we would soon meet at their wedding. We did, hit it off immediately, and married a little over one year later. That still amazes me!!!!

I often can't help but think of the Big Picture that God has.

I was meant to attend Biola University,

room in the dorm hall I did,

be next door to Brandi whom I would become great friends with,

she would then meet Tim only a few months before graduation,

they would then marry a year or two later,

I would then meet Tim's best friend Geoff at their wedding,

we would date long distance for most of our relationship,

and then we would get married after a year of dating.

Did you follow that?

Thank you Ellsworth Family for a great weekend. Having our families together was awesome, and just makes us wish we could get together more often. We are thankful for your friendships!

A true and great friendship is a treasure beyond price.
No, I don't write fortune cookies. It's just how I feel.

How fortunate for your families to have each other. Sounds like you all share a strong bond. And it is neat to sit back and think about the way that Our Lord has worked in our lives and led us down the pathes that he has.
