While we were there we went on a nature trail to see the life cycle of the Salmon fish. This was so cool, and the kids just loved seeing all the fish up close and personal. I had just finished telling Evan that the bears probably come down to the river to eat the fish, since there are so many of them during this time of year.
And about 5 minutes later as we continued down the trail with lots of people I heard someone say
"Look..A Bear"..
Why yes it was. He was right across the river from us. It was such an awesome surprise!
We watched for about ten minutes, and then once the bear got out of the river and started through the fields in our direction I figured it was time to go.
I still can't believe we saw a bear in the wild, and he was so close. I did zoom in to get this picture.
Wordful Wednesday is hosted by Angie at Seven Clown Circus. Stop by to see who else is playing!

That's an awesome picture! Im pretty sure I wouldnt have stuck around for 10 minutes to watch maybe just maybe long enough to get a picture and prolly still would have made hubby do it while the kids and I beat a hasty retreat!
how wonderful...kind of scary! But incredibly beautiful. God makes such wonderful creatures.
honey no way!! a real bear!!
that's awesome!!
We had the same thing happen at Yellowstone in May. We were very close and got to stay and watch one forage for food. What a treat for your whole group. It does teach them to respect and love nature!
